We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to lead and champion our animal welfare initiatives The Role: We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for an Animal Welfare – Programme Manager to join our Sustainability & Environment team based in Perth’s CBD . Please note that this role will involve frequent day and overnight travel to some of our WA sites. This is a pivotal role where you work closely with all business pillars to drive animal welfare initiatives, support training, set expectations and continue industry engagement. Key Responsibilities: Actively engage and manage program expectations with external, internal stakeholders and assist in eliminating roadblocks. Assist and coordinate with property managers for ongoing program monitoring and act as point of contact for program activities. Conduct a risk assessment to identify risks to animal welfare and plan risk mitigation measures. Budget development, implementation and monitoring in line with HRG budgeting process. Run project planning status meetings, site meetings and provide regular project updates to the leadership team. Continuously follow up on the progress, risk and opportunities for each program. Provide sustainability leadership and technical advice in relation to animal welfare. Traveling to site to coordinate and monitor projects through the entire program lifecycle. About You: Tertiary qualified or applied experience in a commercial or technical discipline related to animal welfare, animal science, livestock production or project management. 5 years of experience in the livestock industry. Demonstrated ability to liaise with partners and stakeholders as a key point of contact for animal welfare projects. Demonstrated track record of project management including previous project planning and team management experience. The ability to effectively lead and inspire a cross functional team that focus on delivery, accountability, and performance excellence. Excellent communication both verbal and written. A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The ability to work autonomously, problem solve and work with ambiguity.
